Each step towards a more sustainable way of doing business is welcome. However, more is needed to bring about real change in the international fashion production chain. Innovation in this chain is essential, innovation involving reputable partners who have the courage to initiate change. This must also involve collaboration with the fashion and textile industries.
ASIFF has therefore started the CHAIN CONSULTATION invlovling several leading players from the entire fashion production chain (raw materials, chemicals, production, logistics, packaging and waste disposal) to jointly make the chain more sustainable.
Dicsussion topics include:
- joint investment in uniform certification
- refinement of production processes
- optimisation of transport routes
These meetings can reveal in which areas knowledge is lacking. This in turn can lead to research, pilot projects or other results that help the chain partners implement sustainabilty measures and thus gain a competitive advantage.
